Credits and usage.
How Fabrik credits map to generation cost, when credits are consumed, and how to track your usage.
These examples use standard quality. Prices are provisional during early access. See the Pricing page for current plan inclusions.
What credits are
Credits are Fabrik's generation currency. Each time the pipeline generates an asset — an image, a sound effect, a voice line — it consumes a number of credits based on the requested operation and its settings.
Each new account receives 100 starter credits once after confirmation, in its first workspace. Creating additional workspaces does not repeat the grant. Paid subscriptions add credits on each successful monthly payment. Credits are shared across all projects in the workspace.
When credits are consumed
Fabrik reserves the quoted credits before paid generation starts. A generated output is charged when its file and history are saved, including a result flagged for review or further changes. The production view shows charged credits separately from credits still held for unfinished work.
If a batch fails or is stopped partway through, its saved results and their charges remain. Credits for unstarted work are released. A submission with an unknown provider outcome can keep its credits held until it is resolved. Retrying saved work does not charge for those outputs again. New refinement requests are new generation work with their own estimate.
Variants that you choose not to approve still consume credits — they represent real generation work performed. The credit model reflects the cost of running the pipeline, not the cost of assets you keep.
Credit costs by type
These examples use the current generation estimates. Image quality, dimensions, references and additional correction passes change the cost. Transparency is included. A smaller image may still require a larger initial render, so reducing delivery dimensions does not always reduce credits.
Tracking your usage
Your current credit balance and monthly usage are visible in two places:
- The credits widget in the left navigation (below the project list) shows your remaining balance and a usage bar at a glance.
- The Billing page in your account settings shows your full usage history, broken down by generation type and project.
Pre-flight estimates
Before dispatching a large job — for example, a full symbol set — the agent surfaces a pre-flight credit estimate in the chat thread. This is an approximation based on the job plan; actual cost may vary slightly.
If the estimated cost would exceed your remaining balance, the agent surfaces an insufficient-credit notice. Reduce the batch size or choose a lower quality to fit your available balance.
Your remaining balance
Unused credits currently carry forward. A paid monthly invoice adds the plan allocation to that balance. The free starter grant is issued once; one-time top-up purchases are not available yet.
